Swiss has expanded its codeshare agreement with Air India, adding its flight code to 20 more routes. This move further enhances travel options for passengers.
Expansion of the Codeshare Agreement
Last May, Lufthansa and its Swiss subsidiary deepened their collaboration with the Indian airline, extending their route network. Now, Swiss is taking another step forward by broadening the agreement even further. According to Aeroroutes, this expansion will offer passengers even more travel opportunities.
20 Additional Routes Under the Swiss Code
As part of its commitment to strengthening its ties with Air India, Swiss has now placed its LX-coded flight numbers on 20 additional routes operated by the Indian airline. These include 20 new routes from Zürich under Swiss, as well as 20 routes operated by Air India from Delhi and Mumbai.
For travelers, key destinations such as Kolkata and Bengaluru are likely to be of particular interest. The full list of destinations covered under this extended agreement includes:
- Ahmedabad
- Bengaluru
- Chennai
- Goa Dabolim
- Goa Manohar
- Hyderabad
- Indore
- Kochi
- Kolkata
Additionally, flights between Zürich and Delhi, as well as between Delhi and Mumbai, are part of the codeshare expansion.
Benefits for Passengers
The extended partnership offers significant advantages for travelers. With a codeshare agreement, passengers can enjoy a more seamless travel experience. Flights can be booked under a single reservation, requiring only one check-in process, and baggage will be transferred directly to the final destination.
This expansion marks another step in strengthening ties between Swiss and Air India, enhancing connectivity between Europe and India while making travel more convenient for passengers.
