Autoneum: Automotive Supplier Opens New Plant in India

On August 28, 2024, Autoneum, an automotive supplier based in Winterthur, Switzerland, officially inaugurated its new plant in Pune, located in western India. The company has announced that the mass production of carpet systems, interior trim, wheel arch linings, E-motor encapsulations, and other noise-reduction components for local and international vehicle manufacturers has already commenced.

The Pune facility marks the third production site that Autoneum operates on the Indian subcontinent. The other locations include one in Behror, near New Delhi, and another joint-venture plant in Chennai, situated in the southern part of the country. The production unit in Pune spans 7,500 square meters and is the first in India capable of manufacturing Hybrid-Acoustics PET felts for the encapsulation of electric motors.

Autoneum’s decision to expand its presence in India is aligned with the growing demand for innovative and sustainable automotive solutions in the region.
