Karl Kübel Foundation Offers an Eight-Month Volunteer Opportunity
The Karl Kübel Foundation for Child and Family is once again providing young people with the chance to volunteer abroad. In August 2025, the foundation will send 20 volunteers to support project partners in India and the Philippines for an eight-month period. Currently, there are still four open spots for placements in India, and enthusiastic young individuals can apply until February 16, 2025.
The weltwärts volunteer program is open to young people aged 18 to 28 who are eager to spend an extended period abroad, experience a new culture, and contribute to meaningful social work. The initiative is supported by the German Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development (BMZ) and holds the QUIFD quality certification for volunteer services.
Comprehensive Support for Volunteers
Those who choose to volunteer with the Karl Kübel Foundation benefit from extensive experience in organizing international placements and receive ongoing support throughout their journey.
“As a small sending organization, we maintain regular communication with our volunteers during their placement and provide assistance whenever needed,” explains Dr. Kirsten Sames, the foundation’s weltwärts program coordinator.
Making a Difference in India and the Philippines
Volunteers working in India and the Philippines will assist local partner organizations in various social development projects. In India, the focus is on child and youth development, offering volunteers the opportunity to organize recreational activities, provide academic tutoring, and introduce their own creative initiatives to engage and support young individuals.
Through this volunteer program, the Karl Kübel Foundation aims to raise awareness about global inequalities and inspire young people to actively participate in social change.
“In an era where populism and racism are on the rise, it is more important than ever to have individuals who are willing to immerse themselves in diverse cultures and embrace new perspectives,” emphasizes Dr. Sames.
Interested candidates should submit their applications by February 16, 2025, to seize this life-changing opportunity.
