A little more than a week ago, educationist and former party president of Goa Forward Party (GFP), tendered his resignation as a primary member of the party. His resignation was in protest of the party’s three elected MLAs, led by Vijai Sardesai, extending direct support to the BJP to form the next government.
Timble, in his letter to the general secretary of the party, wrote that he was resigning with pain and deep regret and wrote “I assume my reasons are known to all and I do not wish to elaborate further to save the ridicule of being painted as a theoretician with no knowledge of practical politics. I also want to save the Goa Forward Party from embarrassment by this disassociation as I need to guard my ‘goemkarponn’.”
Responding to the movie, party mentor Vijai Sardesai stated, “It is unfortunate that Timble has quit from the primary membership of the party. I can only say that only time will heal the wounds.” – The Goan Daily
