International chartered flight heading to Goa diverted#

An International Chartered flight heading to Goa was diverted to Bangaloredue to fog at the Dabolim airport. Th flight was carrying 456 Russian tourists and was the first chartered flight of this year’s tourism season.

Congress and Goa Forward Party oppose nationalization of Goa Rivers

The Congress and Goa Forward Party both have opposed the government’s move to nationalise Goan Rivers. Congress MLA Reginaldo Lourenco was present at the GFP press conference rather then the Congress’ press conference.

Goa church awaits information on Pope’s possible visit

It is possible that Pope Francis may visit India and Bangladesh in 2017. However there has not been any official communication about the matter. A leader of Goa church expressed surprise at the Pope’s statement.

Tiger spotted in Goa

Gopinath Gawas and Vinay Gawas claimed to have spotted a tiger crossed a road. They were travelling to Goa from Maan. This is second sighting in a span of a few months.

Perfumer Monika Ghurde found dead

Perfumer Monika Ghurde was found dead in her flat in Sangolda. Police are probing sexual assault angle as the body was found in a nude condition with Monika’s hands and legs tied to the bed.

Ruby building collapse case: Accused allowed to travel abroad

Pradeep Amrik Singh Birring, one Accused in the Buby building collapse case has been allowed to leave India for a 30 days. In 2014, a under construction building in Cancona collapsed claiming the lives the workers who were working in the building.

FC Goa lose second match in a row

FC Goa has faced second defeat in a row after they were beaten 2-1 by FC Pune city. The Pune team was relieved by Momar N’Doye’s 90th minute goal.

Female hippo at Bondla zoo dies

Female Hippopotomus named Sarita died after being assaulted by Devidas, her male Hippopotomus companion at the Bondla zoo. The animals were mating over the week. It is reported that Sarita rebuked Devidas irking him to shove her to the ground hard as she was walking away.
