Goa To Procure 10 More ‘108’ Ambulances: Health Minister Informs

In order to increase the efficiency and improve the functioning, the state’s health department will soon see a complete reshuffle.

“There will be complete reshuffle of directorate of health services (DHS) and its wings to streamline their functioning and bring in efficiency,” Health minister Vishwajit Rane said. – PTI

Efforts will be taken to ensure that health facilities in Goa are active and that health care does not suffer due to the few inefficient individuals, the health minister assured.

Inducted as the health minister just last week, Rane has begun holding review meetings of all the sections of his department including that of Goa medical college and hospital (GMCH).

“There would be no leniency shown towards anyone displaying indiscipline on duty. My department deals with healthcare. Good healthcare services is a parameter of state’s well being,” he said.

Rane informed that the department will procure ten more ‘108’ ambulances to provide quicker services. They join the existing fleet of ambulances by mid-May.

“These ambulances with trained staff would be launched in service by May 25,” he added.
