Aaditya Suhas Jambale has won the national award for the best director in the non-feature film category at the recently held 64th National Film Awards. He won the award for his debut Marathi film ‘Aaba Aiktaay Naa?’ (Aaba Are You Listening?). Jambale is an engineer turned filmmaker based in Ponda.
“Our entire team was young and this was my first film. So we had to overcome many challenges. At the same time, we were fortunate enough to have lead actor, Arun Nalawade. Justin Jose K, our sound mixer, and the entire sound department in Mumbai also helped transform my vision,” said the 25-year-old filmmaker in a ToI report.
Ponda based Shree Mahasala Productions has produced the 28-minute fiction film. “The film explores unusual obsession of a retired old man, towards a Hearing aid machine and the way in which newly found sonic world changes his life forever,” says the production company’s website.
