The 8th edition of the Goa Arts and Literature Festival (GALF) will begin from December 7 to 10. Noted writers, poets, journalists and artists from India and abroad take part in the four-day long literary fest held once a year.
The event will be inaugurated at the Maquinez Palace in Panaji while the rest of the event will be held at the International Centre Goa in Dona Paula.
“The GALF 2017 will showcase writers, poets and others from a wide range of Indian languages, including Konkani and Marathi,” the organisers said in a press note.
The annual event brings together several prominent authors, poets, journalists and artists from India and abroad. Sahitya Akademi Award winners Ganesh Devy, Ramachandra Guha, Jerry Pinto, Ranjit Hoskote and the 2015 Man Booker Prize nominee Anuradha Roy will be attending the event.
“The North Eastern Council (NEC) is sending several writers from the region, including Padmashri award winner Patricia Mukhim,” the organisers said.
Edwin Thumboo (Singapore) and Gabriel Rosenstock (Ireland) are international delegates attending the event.
As part of its focus on history, contemporary Indian politics and international relations GALF 2017 is hosting three authors.
They are Nitin Gokhale, the author of `Securing India the Modi Way: Pathankot, Surgical Strikes and More; Prashant Jha, the author of `How the BJP Wins: Inside Indias Greatest Election Machine, and Prasenjit K Basu, the author of `Asia Reborn, the release added.
