GFP and MGP assure the stability of the government

Recently political circles were abuzz with the news that Congress is trying to form an alternate government with the support of regional parties. However, yesterday the Bhartiya Janata Party  (BJP), Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party  (MGP) and Goa Forward Party  (GFP) have assured that the coalition government will survive it full term.

Three alliance partners confirmed the stability of the government while speaking to the media separately.

“It is we (GFP) who made Manohar Parrikar the chief minister. We were the ones who devised the scheme of bringing Parrikar back to Goa to head the government. I will definitely not backstab him,” Sardesai was quoted by ToI.

Now if the MGP withdraws it’s support to Parrikar, who due to our demands was made to vacate the post of Defence Minister and come down to Goa as the Chief Minister, then it would not only be an absurd decision on our part, but would make all of us look like fools,” MGP leaders Sudin Dhavalikar was quoted by the Navhind Times.

“Everything is fine with the current dispersion and our alliance partners are firmly behind Chief Minister Manohar Parrikar. There are attempts to create confusion about the stability but we want to assure that the government is intact. Alliance partners have also given statements supporting the government,” BJP Goa General Secretary was quoted by Herald.

Sardesai further went on to say, “Congress is a devastated house. There is no question of even touching it.”

BJP and it’s allies yesterday have squashed the rumours that were doing the rounds for the past two-three days.
