Goa Congress spokesperson Trajano D’Mello’s recent statements against state party president Luizinho Faleiro for Congress’ failure to form the government and demanding that he (Luizinho) resign or be thrown out has landed him outside the party. In an executive meeting held by Goa Pradesh Congress Committee (GPCC) a decision to expel the now former general secretary of the party.
“At the meeting of the executive committee of Goa Pradesh Congress committee took strong notice and cognizance of the anti-party utternances, activities and acts of D’Mello,” says the press note released by party’s Goa Vice President M K Shaikh. – TNV
The party replying to D’Mello’s statements said that his utterances amounted to malign and damage the dignity of GPCC, and that his statements were motivated, unfounded and baseless.
A few days ago, D’Mello had demanded the resignation of Faleiro for his failure to form the government. Adding further that if the he (Faleiro) does not resign, the party should sack him. This statement came following Congress General Secretary Digvijaya Singh’s admission on twitter of the mistake the party made by not aligning with Goa Forward Party and its mentor Vijai Sardesai.
