Goa chief minister Manohar Parrikar will travel to the US for treatment in the early hours on Wednesday, a top BJP leader informed on Tuesday.
Parrikar was admitted to Mumbai Lilavati Hospital on Monday for a check-up.
“The chief minister will fly to the USA tomorrow (Wednesday) by an early morning flight at 1.30 am for further treatment,” state BJP general secretary Sadanand Tanawade said.
Parrikar had previously been admitted to Lilavati Hospital in Mumbai on February 15 and discharged on February 22. He returned to the state on February 22 and presented the state budget in the assembly. Later, after a few day he was admitted to Goa Medical College (GMC) after he suffered from dehydration.
In a message to the people, the CM thank all those who prayed for his recovery and hoped to have their prayers during his treatment out of the state.
A three-member Cabinet Advisory Committee was formed to handle the administration of the state in Parrikar’s absence. Sudin Dhavalikar of the Maharashtrawadi Gomantak Party (MGP), Francis D’Souza Bhartiya Janata Party of the (BJP) and Vijai Sardesai of the Goa Forward Party (GFP) are a part of this committee.
