Unknown culprits uprooted an Automated Teller Machine (ATM) of State Bank of India located at Agarwada, Pernem on Thursday night. The ATM was lated found abandoned in the forest area of Agarwada. Cash amounting to Rs. 18.81 lakh is missing. The incident came to light on Friday morning.
It has been found that the culprits first uprooted the ATM machine which was nailed to the ground. The machine was later found abandoned in a forest area. The machine had been broken through and the cash in it was missing.
Later, a local man complained to the police that his auto-rickshaw had been stolen from outside his house. The vehicle was found abandoned on the main road near Bodkedhenu.
It is suspected that the stolen rickshaw had been used by the culprits to committing the robbery. Further details are awaited.
